“Hi Heather,
It was such a pleasure speaking with you today and being able to share the great news! As confirmed, you’ve been selected as this year’s winner Congratulations Heather! What you have achieved over the past two years is very impressive, as we can see that you are extremely passionate about what you do and pride yourselves on providing a quality service!
Qii House – Holistic Wellness Retreat of the Year!
For the last 16 years we have been running national and international awards under the Corporate Live Wire and LTG business platforms. In 2018 we introduced our regional awards to recognise smaller, independent businesses that are extremely successful and hard working on a local level. The nominations that are submitted forward may be from previous customers and the public for your chosen category, and once the allocation of nominations is met, all businesses within that category are then passed onto our panel of industry expert judges who will then ultimately pick a winner. Publicly sourced information is also used such as reviews, testimonials, core values & services, branding of your business, and information provided on the company’s website and their social media platforms.
The publication will be available to over 550,000 Global Corporate Livewire subscribers. It will also reach over 30,000 readers located throughout Australia! All our winners will be listed in the annual 2024 Australia publication, and we will be promoting all those recognised on a complimentary basis. You have the opportunity to be part of the editorial content which includes written interviews and other features that promote your services as well as the story behind your business’s success, including the core values that truly make you stand out within the industry
I had an AMAZING few days in early February 2024, hosting James Drakeford and his companion Yan at Qii House. The most lovely guests and an absolute joy to host. James is based in Taiwan and as the Editor in Chief of Corporate Livewire and part of the wonderful Prestige Awards Team, was here for a press release and an in depth travel review. Later I learnt of the role he played in the judging of winners!
I feel very privileged and grateful for such an amazing opportunity. James has visited more than 50 countries.
We were fortunate to be treated to an indulgent Forest Therapy exploration along our Zaborin Walk which is our own accredited Forest Therapy trail; by Susan Joachim, the President of the INFTA and certified forest therapy guide and Dr Dieter Kotte. This was followed by an exquisite Japanese Tea Ceremony at the Billabong garden. Dieter is an international Research Scientist and an expert in the field of FT. He works with the top researchers in the world , mainly in Japan and has edited an International Handbook on Forest Therapy which made interesting discussion.
What Is Forest Therapy
Forest immersion by engaging all the senses, drawing breath, slowing pace and being fully present in the moment.
It is an evidenced based researched based therapeutic modality which emanated from Japan in the eighties and is impacting the world.
Phytoncides are essential oils emitted from trees as a defence mechanism and protect trees from disease and bugs. This works like aroma therapy and gives a natural boost to human immunity. This is of particular relevance in a global pandemic as 2-3 hours of forest therapy can elevate natural killer cells for 30 days.
Forest therapy also has a parasympathetic effect on the nervous system and relaxes breathing, slows heart rate, lowers blood pressure and enhances sleep patterns. It also boosts serotonin production in the brain which inspires calm, focus and happiness. Research supports that FT has a positive impact on our natural immunity, stress reduction, depression, heart disease, tumour growth and general wellbeing.
Doctors in Japan literally prescribe visits to the forests and forest bathing for their patients to heal.
Another agenda was a walk and talk from Qii House to Lake Elizabeth with Richard Collopy. Some wonderful sharing in cultural exchange and lessons in being on country.. It was a foraging and story -telling exploration. We were welcomed with a “smoke ceremony” by Richard at Qii House and treated to some rock painting by Richard using ground down ochre along the way! Richard is of a sovereign family of the Gadubanud who are indigenous inhabitants of the Otways. We particularly enjoyed uncovering bushtucker along the way.
Always such a pleasure to meet and to greet at Qii House. Thankyou one and all so much for making some more happy moments and memories at Qii House.
